
Physician Onboarding: From Pitch to Product
When Doximity leadership launched a Shark-Tank-style innovation challenge, I brought forward a product idea that didn’t come from a whiteboard. It came from my clients. After hearing the same pain points in meetings, calls, and quarterly reviews, I pitched Physician Onboarding: a scalable solution to help hospitals better introduce new physicians to their referral networks.
That idea became a reality and in under 12 months, Lifepoint Health used it to onboard 80+ new physicians across 60+ facilities, generating over $1 million in revenue.
As Lifepoint Health expanded its national footprint, onboarding dozens of new physicians across more than 60 facilities, it faced a critical challenge: how to convert rapid growth into real clinical traction. For newly hired providers, early success requires visibility, targeted referrals, and fast integration into the local medical community.
Hospitals often lean on time-intensive, analog tactics—like physician meet-and-greets or welcome dinners—to spark these relationships. But those efforts offer limited reach and uneven results. Lifepoint needed a digital-first approach: one that could introduce new physicians to the right referrers from day one, build trust at scale, and ensure a return on their investment in clinical talent.
At the same time, Doximity’s commercial team had a mandate of its own—a bold new revenue target and a leadership-driven challenge to launch net-new products. Physician Onboarding was born at that intersection.

MY ROLE
While managing a $5M+ book of business, I pitched the original idea, led the concept development, and worked with cross-functional partners to bring it to life. I built the messaging framework, coached clients on best practices, and wrote the first round of client-facing materials that scaled the program across Lifepoint’s national footprint.
